Strength: • Open source. If you are not familiar with "open source", it means this software is more secure. Because its code is publicly available for review and contributions at <HTTPS : //>sourceforge<DOT>net/projects/qt5ct/ • Attractive BSD License. This means the software code of this extension is owned and supported by a friendly not-for-profit community. Instead of a for-profit corporation. <HTTPS : //>sourceforge<DOT>net/p/qt5ct/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/qt5ct/README • Very easy to change theme, font, icons, etc. Using qt5ct graphic user interface (GUI). • Works with Debian 10 Buster & GNOME 3.30.2 • Included in Debian 10 Buster repository • Supports dark themes. Such as "Adwaita-dark" Challenge: • Requires you to manually add a configuration to the user "~/.profile" file. Doing so requires knowledge of Terminal/Console. Which is out of reach for many newcomers. • The first time you configure this ".profile" file above, user needs to log-out GNOME, then log-in. So that the configuration is effecting. This configuration without the quote: "QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=qt5ct". This is both not self-explain, and risky to be challenging for many newcomers. • No Backport available on Debian 10 Buster. This would be useful to get a more recent version of qt5ct. Using: • qt5ct 0.37-1 • Debian 10 Buster • GNOME 3.30.2
