qingy is a replacement of getty. Written in C, it uses DirectFB to provide a fast, nice GUI without the overhead of the X Window System. It allows the user to log in and start the session of his choice (text console, gnome, kde, wmaker, ...).

  • Qingy is one of the best Linux stuff In know. I used in in Gentoo envoirement for years. It provides one Login screen for TTY as for Xsession. As such you can start different Xsessions on different TTYs which is especially nice if you trying to config one of your TTY or someone else wants to have a fast access to his account while you are away. Very nice work. :)
