While you can build PyKdump from sources, we provide prebuilt binaries for X86_64. For convenience, archives provide both extension and crash executable built from recent sources, e.g. usr/local/bin/crash64 usr/local/lib/mpykdump64.so All versions of PyKdump starting from 3.0.0 are Python3-based. Your old programs will not work until modified. See python2to3.pdf for details. The new versions are built on X86_64/RHEL6. Older binaries have been built on X86_64/RHEL5. As the only dependency is GLIBC, this means that they binaries can be used on any distribution with GLIBC not older than the one used for build. So for PyKdump-3.0.0 and later this will be RHEL6-7, SLES11-12 etc. The provided utitlities work with any kernel starting from 2.4.21 and up to 4.11.X. New features are added for kernels 2.6 and later only, regression testing for 2.4 kernels is very limited. If you need to work with 2.4 kernels, use older versions of PyKdump.
