Installation Instructions

To make the installation easier, we now distribute packages containing all the binaries except Scwrl4, which is free for non-profit users but requires a license agreement. Users interested in using Scwrl4 for the prediction of a protein structure's side chains, must download it from http://dunbrack.fccc.edu/scwrl4/. Please visit the ProteinShop web site for more information: http://ProteinShop.org

Install on Linux: To install the software on Linux, just become root and type:

rpm -i proteinshop-4.0-1_<os_version>.x86_64.rpm.

Install on Mac: Just download the file proteinshop4.0_mac.dmg and drug the proteinshop icon to the Applications folder (you need to become root) or to the desired folder. You may also drug the icon to the Task Bar for quick access. Finally, eject the installation volume. To change the configuration file or the plugins in the plug-ins directory, click on the icon with the right mouse button and then click on Show Package Contents. All the files included in the package will be in the Contents folder.
