About the server...

The server is distributed as an executable .jar file. It will run on Windows, OSX, Linux, BSD, and anything else that has Java.

What does it do so far?

Well, not much. It connects to the app and pings it, then crashes. It's more of a preview than anything functional.

How do I run it?

1. You'll need Java installed on your computer. You can get it from Oracle's website if you don't have it already or your Linux distro's package manager.
2. Open a console and cd to the directory you saved the .jar to.
3. Type "java -jar server-prealpha1.jar" without the quotes and press enter.
4. The server prints what it thinks is your IP address to the console, but it may not be correct. Follow the directions the console prints out.
5. Fire up Pokedroid (beta7+) and tap Multiplayer. Enter your computer's IP address and hit connect. It should work!

-To shut down the server, use ctrl+c. I know, it's ugly, deal with it.
-If it isn't working, make sure that port 1070 is allowed through your computer's firewall (and your device's, if you have one on it.)
-Make sure your device and computer are connected to the same network. I don't know for sure if it works over the internet or EDGE/3G/4G. You will definitely have to forward port 1070 TCP/UDP if you wanna try, though.

I <3 feedback!
