  • The development has stopped in 2016, and the program does not run on recent Ubuntu versions because of old QT libraries or whatever. But a good successor is Skribisto (www.skribisto.eu), which can be installed via Flatpak.
  • Too bad. This could have been the new standard... it simply doesn't work anymore.
  • Thanks for the program under a free open source license!
  • This may have worked at one point, but currently (check out the Issues to see numerous people with this problem) it literally vaporizes your work. Good thing the interface is kinda bad so I didn't use it much before realizing that it blanks saved documents. You load up a saved project, and it's as if the project is totally blank. Then it saves and saves over again. No backup for you, buddy! The creator has not responded to any queries for many years. I took the hit so you don't have to. I guess it's called plume creator because it's a furnace that takes your writing and sends up a plume of smoke.
  • Perfect if all you want to use are the chapter, notes and synopsis functions. The mise en scene function is a waste of time, and all but useless. There is no help or support available at all from within the program.
  • Very nice! Allows flexibility in character description and outlining.

  • Rather fiddly but stable and has all the basic features.
