Getting Started With Picartesius (Windows/Excel Users)

Prerequisite: Windows Excel 2007 or higher installed 

1. Install Picat
- Download the zip archive file for Windows from: http://picat-lang.org.
- Extract the files of the zip archive to a directory, say c:\. 
  The file named picat.exe is the executable of the Picat system.


2. Check/create execution directory (ExecDir)
- Picartesius creates temporary files, so a writable execution directory is needed (c:\temp e.g.).
  (Directory is best choosen on a local drive because of faster access time compared to network drives.)


3. Download and open picartesius.xlsm with Excel(2007 or higher)
- Enable Macros/Content.
- Verify settings in CONFIG BLOCK (PicatDir, ExecDir).
- Change example number in CONFIG BLOCK to test the settings and examples.
