PenEcho v1.3.5 brings together the key improvements from 1.3.0–1.3.5, making the Canvas a more capable workspace for you and your AI agents.

Highlights

• Bring your own AI agent with MCP. Connect Codex, Claude Code, Kimi, Cursor, or other compatible clients through Local MCP or Cloud MCP. Agents can read enabled Canvases, create and edit content, work with interactive Widgets, and respond to handwritten feedback.

• Concurrent AI collaboration. Canvas AI, PenEcho Agent, and MCP-connected agents can work on the same Canvas simultaneously. Agent workflows also gain improved file and document handling, conversation recovery, progress reporting, and thinking controls for supported models.

• Professional diagrams. Create architecture, sequence, and workflow diagrams with automatic layout and connection routing. Refine them through feedback or source edits, then export SVG or PNG. Rendering runs locally in the browser.

• A refined Studio workspace. Navigate Canvases, Chats, and MCP sessions from a unified sidebar. The Canvas Library adds search, pagination, project filters, sorting, and on-demand previews. Drawing, selection, resizing, navigation, and customizable keyboard shortcuts are also improved.

• Flexible AI connections. Save multiple API or CLI connections and select one for each client. Discover models from additional provider presets, use custom endpoints, or access PenEcho-hosted models with Cloud credits.

• Better Widgets and sharing. Improved Widget sizing, scrolling, maximized views, and live-state preservation. Cloud loading and recovery are more reliable, and shared Canvases can be copied into your own space for editing.

• Expanded desktop menus and updates. macOS and Windows gain native Canvas, AI, MCP, and local-network actions. A compact update indicator shows download progress and opens an update window with release notes. Menus and update controls support English and Chinese.

Reliability fixes

• Preserve Canvas names when saving copies to Device, Server, or Cloud.
• Keep small images and images at Canvas boundaries saveable and reopenable.
• Prevent canceled or superseded restores from changing a newer Canvas.
• Give community imports independent identities, protecting edits in the original.
• Restore rendering for existing Mermaid diagrams while retaining their source.
