                             Pearl OS 3.0 release

                     VERY IMPORTANT FOR MOOTH UPDATES :-)

....> After installing any Linux distro first thing to do is do a system update.
when doing so you will receive a GPG key error for our repository (apt.pearllinux.com/pearl).
The lastest release PearlDE 64 bit does not have that error all others will.

To overcome this after install please download from our repo or from your web browser or
at "http://pearllinux.com/pearl-keyring_20160511_all.deb" Use gdebi  to gui install it....<

To boot live system, at login screen click login (no password required for live session)

versions of Pearl OS 3.0 are loaded with software and extra featuresand yet without

    The new website, forum and manuals are still under heavy construction


All versions have compiz as default window manager.

To use the alternative window managers do as follows at Login Screen:



For GNOME -  choose "Gnome Flashback Metacity"

For MATE  -  you can switch on the fly with "MATE Tweak" inside control center.

For PearlDE - At login screen do as follows:

Option 1  Kodi (Kodi Media Center)

Option 2  LXDE uses openbox as window manager with WinXP styled default theme

Option 3  PearlDE uses xfwm4 to manage window themes and for compositing.
LXappearance, in Pearl System Control, is used to manage GTK theming, icons, fonts etc.

Option 4  PearlDE-FX  Uses Compiz for desktop effects. GTK Themes can be changed with
LXAppearance in control panel as well but for window theming use dconf-editor.
Dconf-Editor is also in the Pearl System Control interface.
