It can also extract audio from the following video extensions:

Parallel Processing, a CD ripping function with CDDB support, batch conversion, tag preservation for most supported formats, independent tag reading & writing, service menus for KDE Dolphin/Konqueror, Gnome Nautilus script, and action scripts for Nemo/Thunar are also provided.

The software is extremely useful, actually the best in its category, but the developer is completely unresponsive: he hastily closes bug reports without truly analyzing the issues reported, and dismisses patches sent to fix the bugs; the result is: the reported issues remain unfixed in the code base. If you find a bug, fix it in your local copy of the repository and don't bother to report it because the developer won't look at it.

I only needed a specific thing (to change a few mp4 into mp3), and this one worked really well. True a GUI would be easier, but I actually like being able to make scripts, so this is nice. The command I used was pretty basic: pacpl -t mp3 * pacpl = opening the program -t = Translates into mp3 = what I translated the file into * = the "*" just means "do it to everything that's in this folder." You would normally type the name of the file you want to convert into mp3 instead of the * symbol, but this works for me. It looked like there were features for naming schemes as well, which might be a nice if your using it a lot. 5 stars for ease of use and meeting my needs.
