The oscmex project provides a library of functions for MATLAB that enable the sending and receiving of Open Sound Control (OSC) formatted messages between a MATLAB process and other OSC-enabled endpoints on a network.

oscmex is primarily used in experimental prototypes characterized by use of real-time media presentation engines and/or sensors or gesture input devices in combination with control and/or numerical analysis running in a MATLAB process.

oscmex comprises a set of "mex" binary routines, written in C, that can be loaded and called from MATLAB. The C code makes use of the liblo library (which is distributed under the terms of LGPL), and oscmex is also distributed under the same terms.

oscmex is not endorsed by nor representative of MATLAB nor MathWorks.

User Reviews

  • There seems to be a typo in "/Users/shahin/Downloads/osc/osc-mexmaci64/src/osc_send.c" that keeps it from compiling. 'mxErrMsgTxt' should apparently read 'mexErrMsgTxt' on line 42.
