DevC++ is a great development environment for beginners!
Lowest Rated
While we are grateful that the excellent Dev-C++ IDE has continued its existence throughout this project and it seems very promising; sadly this IDE is so full of bugs that it is UNUSABLE. Unfortunately this IDE is useless in production code and even for testing environments because you are unable to compile most of the time. You run into countless denial permissions when trying to rebuild or clean a project, often you have to compile a few times before the compiler actually works on compiling flawless code that compiles in other IDE's and in MinGW or gcc g++ (GNU/Linux).
I would be glad to re-use this IDE (since it is light, well designed, and very flexible) if these compilation/rebuilding bugs were fixed. For the time being I recommend: Visual C++ Express, Code::Blocks, Eclipse CDT, or Netbeans.

Small, simple, fast, unpacks lots of things, easy and small install... I just love this program and use it for years now. Never had any problems with it. Highly recommended!

Love the portable version. Are there options to remove: folding, and those vertical dotted-lines that appear on indentations? Many thanks.

thanks

It's very good, much more better than CodeBlocks but needs git, mercurial, svn etc.. support. If you make aditional gui resources editor I would be happy. Can You make features request tracker?

Very Good! I can't believe that this project that is neary dead is recovered! Will be better if added compilers config to let us use different compilers because our match need the specific compiler version(gcc 4.4.4).Thanks

Very good. You saved a dead project! Will be better if added a network proxy config option for WebUpdate. Because when I use this tool in China, the "Check for updates" operation is always disturbed by the GFW (Great FireWall) of Chinese government. It interrupts the TCP connection. So I need to configure Dev-C++ using a proxy to bypass it. Thank you.
