Orthos/Ορθός
Orthos (Greek Ορθός) - correct, or (in our case) writing correctly or orthography.
This project contains Greek dictionaries and a thesaurus that are primarily used in creating extensions for LibreOffice and OpenOffice. It was started as a fork of the LibreGreek GIT project at https://github.com/squibbylinux/LibreGreek. Read the README files there to find out more about the background of the project and the origin of its parts.
OBSOLETE: Starting with this version version,v. 0.5.0, this project does not create dictionaries for Mozilla projects (ie Firefox, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey).

INSTALLATION To install a spell checker in LibreOffice or OpenOffice just get one of the files:
- orthos-el_GR-(version).oxt - Greek dictionary
- orthos-el_GR-en_US-(version).oxt - Greek/English dictionary
- orthos-el_GR-caps-(version).oxt - Greek dictionary with all letters capitalized
- orthos-el_GR-el_CY-(version).oxt - Greek/Greek Cypriot dictionary(experimental)
and install using the extensions manager in the Tools menu. You can install more than one dictionary but have only one active at a time. It is best to get these files from the latest release which is the most stable.
To install the thesaurus get the file - orthos-thesaurus-(version).oxt - Greek thesaurus of synonyms and also install using the extensions manager.
The el_GR version contains a Greek dictionary. The el_GR-en_US version is a combined Greek/English spelling dictionary that is very usefull to anyone that works with English and Greek multilingual documents. This dictionary contains a version of SCOWL (http://wordlist.aspell.net/). See http://wordlist.aspell.net/scowl-readme/ for relevant Licence and Copyrights.
The orthos-<ver>.tar.gz archive file is a complete archive of the Orthos project. It is primarily useful to those that want to expand on the project or see how the extensions are created. It also contains more elaborate explanation of how this project was put together. Get his file if you want to play around with the source. The git repositories are not up to date.
Version 0.5.0 was promarily tested with LibreOffice 24 and 25 but it should work also with versions 5, 6, 7.
