1 PACKAGE CONTENTS
------------------

Oree provides optimized routines for reconstruction of events of interaction 
of high energy electromagnetic particles with a Gamma Camera. Oree
computes estimates of the coordinates of interaction of each photon with 
the crystal and of its energy. 

Input to Oree are digitally sampled values proportional to the electric signals 
from the detector readout channels of the Gamma Camera (secondary photon counts). 
The modularity of Oree provides several ways to feed input data to the reconstruction 
algorithm: through a prerecorded text file with the detector readouts or through a socket based 
stream interface for real-time reconstruction. 

Oree can be used with a great variety of Gamma Camera geometries by defining a 
configuration file. 

Three reconstruction algorithms are currently implemented: 

(i  ) Center of Mass
(ii ) Correlation based
(iii) Maximum Likelihood estimation [1]

The three algorithms are implemented in C and highly optimized. 
A CUDA based GPU accelerated version of algorithms (ii) and (iii) 
provides reconstruction rates of over 1 Million events/second on a 
NVidia GTX265 [1].
