For 2025 tax year, it is missing a SS worksheet section of 4 worksheets for lump sum distributions received in 2025 for previous years - The worksheet calculates an alternative (lower) income to report on 1040SR line 6b and has a checkbox on 6c to indicated it comes from the worksheet. If you are on SS, check out the actual federal forms and worksheets to see if you may be able to use the lower taxable SS figure.

Good overall but need a little better support.

simple Q&A design (fill in blanks, atypical from std forms) does NOT have all states, just 6 - 7 or so. ok for just federal 1040, but limited to certain forms, good for starter taxpayers, say, teens and older folks (NOT for business) great for initial double-check on 1040 though

Great help with my taxes! UI not there enough that I'd say it was easy starting from 0. What I had to do is look at my taxes from last year (done by H&R Block) and figure out everywhere in Open Tax Solver that I needed to have data filled in. Using this method I was able to get my taxes prepared easily enough. Also missing 'Form 8995 Qualified Business Income Deduction Simplified Computation' which I needed.

Really want to like this app but it isn't user friendly and the UI is poor. I think if a designer were to help out this thing could be great.
