This release fixes the problems people hit running a team of Codex bots on a busy machine, especially a small MausBot Cloud. If your bots stopped with shutdown_timeout, a raw 401, or "Upgrade to Pro", or you couldn't take over the bot's browser, update. There is nothing else to do.

Fixes

  • Many Codex bots on a small machine no longer fail with shutdown_timeout. When about ten Codex bots started together on a 2-CPU machine, startup calls ran out of time and the turns ended shutdown_timeout. Now only a few Codex bots start at once (at least 2, or one per CPU). The others wait their turn and show "Waiting for a free Codex slot… This one starts on its own." Running turns are not limited. A failed stop now always ends the turn, so a Chief's retry is no longer refused with "still running". (#2883)
  • Archived Codex sessions resume. A thread Codex had archived failed on every retry. OpenMausBot now unarchives it and carries on. (#2883)
  • Routines retry hiccups and get acted on. A run that hit Codex's "workspace routing discovery failed" before doing anything now runs once more, 15 seconds later. A routine's prompt now opens by telling the bot to do it now, so bots stop just acknowledging it. A routine that names a path for a different system, such as C:\… on a Cloud, shows a warning. (#2883)
  • Codex says plainly when it isn't signed in. Before, a Cloud with no Codex login hung for up to a minute and then showed 401 Unauthorized: Missing bearer…. Now the turn stops at once with "Codex isn't signed in on this computer. Sign-ins don't copy over when you move to My Cloud. Sign in to Codex in Settings → Model providers → Codex." Sign-in reads that collide no longer mark every Codex bot as signed out. (#2884)
  • The Codex usage limit is OpenAI's, and now says so. "You've hit your usage limit. Upgrade to Pro" referred to ChatGPT Pro, not your MausBot plan. The message now names your ChatGPT account and gives the reset time. Its button is Manage usage instead of Retry. (#2884)
  • You can always take over the bot's browser. If a bot call never answered, you couldn't click or type in the browser (for example, to finish a Microsoft sign-in). Restart was refused while the bot was busy. Taking control now works in that case. Long browser calls are no longer reported as "connection was interrupted", and the panel tells you when another window has control. (#2885)
  • A Cloud's included cloud computer recovers from a network blip. One failed lookup no longer ends every computer call in the turn with "Do not retry computer work in this turn". Error messages name the right service. (#2885)
  • Expired app connections ask you to reconnect. When an app connected through Connectors expired, bots looped on account labels. Now they get a clear "reconnect this app" with a Reconnect link. A scoped bot whose app call was malformed is told so, rather than told it lacks access. (#2882, [#2860])
  • Moving a Windows PC to My Cloud brings your paths along. Paths into your OpenMausBot folder (in bot and room instructions, routine prompts and memory) now point at the copy on My Cloud. When the move finishes, it tells you which bots used folders that stayed on the PC, and what to do about them. (#2881)
  • Claude bots stop running into the 2-minute shell limit, and Claude sessions that fail sign-in are retired instead of retried. (#2876, [#2867])
  • Smaller fixes:
  • Team tools that fail to start no longer strand a chat.
  • Groq, Mistral, Cerebras and Meta bots no longer get the history twice each turn.
  • Memory recalls the matching passages and keeps team notes across renames.
  • "@Bot stop this bridge" in a room is treated as a task.
  • Voice notes from the built-in Mac voices reach the chat.
  • A custom MCP server that fails to mount is skipped instead of failing the turn.
  • Removing a provider while it signs out no longer blocks the next sign-out.

(#2843, [#2747], [#2850], [#2869], [#2851], [#2863], [#2864], [#2865], [#2890])

New

  • Accounts, simpler. Settings shows one card per provider and one clear action for each account. Claude sign-in tells you when it worked. Adding a second account is easier to follow. (#2840)
  • @you in rooms. Tagging the person in a room sends a "mentioned you" notification. (#2874)
  • Cloud health reports. A MausBot Cloud now reports content-free health checks (error codes and counts, never your chats or files) so problems are found and fixed before you have to write in. (#2886)

Behind the scenes

  • Secure HTTPS addresses are freed after 3 days offline, or 2 days if they never connected, so new sign-ups can get one. An address you come back for is handed out again. (#2879)
  • The control plane can relay closed-app alerts to the phone app. (#2853)
  • CI is more reliable on Windows and Ubuntu, and code comments that only repeated the code were deleted. (#2826, [#2827], [#2846])

Still on an older version?

OpenMausBot updates itself. If it doesn't, download the installer for your system below and install it over the old one. Your bots and chats are kept. MausBot Clouds move to this version on their own.
