Performance

• /costs page load 120× faster — composite (region, is_active, code) index drops the per-region keyset scan from 6 s to 1 ms on 55K-row catalogues; COUNT(*) from 3 s to 6 ms.
• /v1/costs/?lite=1 slim-payload mode strips components (~31 KB/row) and metadata.variants (~6 KB/row), shrinking a 10-row page from 235 KB to 18 KB. Frontend list now lazy-fetches the full item via /v1/costs/{id} only when a row is expanded.

Added

• Header ThemeToggle button — single icon next to avatar that cycles light → dark → system.
• Header HelpMenu (? icon) consolidates 6 buttons (Docs, GitHub, Send feedback, Report issue, Report a bug, Email) behind one popover.
• Sidebar pinned section, search-as-jumper bar, two-key keyboard shortcuts (G then D/P/B/C/M/A/,) with inline kbd hints, hover-arrow affordance, stagger animation.
• Linux CAD converters auto-discovered at /usr/bin/{Format}Exporter (RVT/IFC/DWG/DGN); install endpoint detects /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ddc.list and surfaces a one-line install or full apt setup accordingly.
• Smoke test surfaces error while loading shared libraries (exit 127) with the missing-lib name so users know which ddc-deps-* package to reinstall.

Changed

• Sidebar active state — single winning route now highlighted (was: parent + child both lit on /bim/rules); active background bumped from oe-blue/[0.08] to oe-blue/[0.14] with a 2 px left bar and inset hairline.
• Header ProjectSwitcher — bigger 36 px hit-target, always tinted, dashed CTA + pulsing dot when no project, solid blue-subtle + folder square + bold name when active.
• Header right side reorganized into 4 zones (Search · Notifications+Help · Account) with hairline dividers.
• Avatar in user menu now has gradient + drop-shadow + animated online dot (matches the rest of the chrome).
• Header bottom is now a soft hairline gradient instead of a hard 1 px border.
• All decorative emojis in /bim/rules, /chat data panel, BOQ grid, BIM filter panel, AI config banner, match panel, and project detail replaced with lucide icons. Country flags and i18n locale flags untouched.

Fixed

• app/modules/takeoff/router.py — uuid.UUID(...) reference fixed to use the local alias (_uuid.UUID(...)); previous code raised NameError at runtime.
• MatchSuggestionsPanel test mocks updated to include listLoadedDatabases / setProjectCatalog so CatalogBindingBar mounts in tests.

Internal

• Migration v283_costs_region_active_index — inspector-guarded composite index on oe_costs_item(region, is_active, code). New DBs get it via Base.metadata.create_all() from updated __table_args__.
• New backend tests tests/unit/test_cad_import_linux.py (8) cover the Linux converter probe + ld.so failure heuristic.
