A major release focusing on modernizing the library, improving universal compatibility, and cleaning up legacy code.

New Features

  • Universal API Support: Added setApiVersion() to support alternative paths (like Google Gemini and ByteDance Ark). (#152)
  • Custom cURL Configs: Added setCURLOptions() to easily bypass SSL or inject custom timeouts/proxies. (#149)
  • Standard Webhooks: Added Webhook class with robust signature validation.
  • Deferred API Keys: Added setApiKey() for better dependency injection. (#156)
  • Usage & Costs: Full support for organization usage and cost APIs. (#155)

Enhancements

  • Model Upgrade: Default chat model updated to gpt-4o-mini.
  • Testing Infrastructure: Complete rewrite of the test suite using Pest, separating live endpoints from mocked transport tests.

Breaking Changes

  • Removed Legacy Assistants API: Threads and Runs have been removed. For complex, stateful Assistant workflows, please migrate to the official openai-php/client.
  • Removed Obsolete Endpoints: Completely purged the deprecated Answers, Searches, and Classifications endpoints.
