About Dynamics Model Validation
Sept 22, 2014
Dynamics model validation is performed with Single Machine Infinite Bus (SMIB) model.
The SMIB model has:
(1) 3 buses:
Bus number, Bus name, Voltage(kV), Type, PLOAD(MW), QLOAD(Mvar), PGEN(MW), VSET(p.u.), MBASE(MVA)
1, 'MACHINE', 20.0, PV, 0.0, 0.0, 300.0, 1.0, 350.0
2, 'SUBSTATION', 242.0, PQ, 1000.0, 200.0, 0.0, N/A, N/A
3, 'SLACK', 242.0, Slack, 0.0, 0.0, ~700.0, 1.0, 10000.0
(2) 1 transformer:
From bus, To bus, Gmag(pu), Bmag(pu), R(pu), X(pu), Tap1(pu), Tap2(pu)
1, 2, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0001, 0.008, 1.0, 1.0
(3) 2 lines
From bus, To bus, Ickt, R(pu), X(pu), Total charging(pu)
2, 3, '1', 0.001, 0.02, 0.01
2, 3, '2', 0.001, 0.02, 0.01
Event is set as:
Bus fault at line 2-3 '1' (at bus 2 side) with fault P+jQ=0+j(-2e9) MW/MVar, and cleared after 0.05s with line trip
Machine at bus 3 is modelled as GENCLS with H=999.0, D=0.0.
Machine at bus 1 is tested with different dynamics models. Model parameter can be found in the validation spreadsheet.
For machine model validation, generator models are provided.
For AVR, turbine-governor, PSS, and other models, the parameter of test model is listed in validation spreadsheet. And the generator of bus 1 is modelled as GENROU with:
1 'GENROU' 1 5.7000 0.30000E-01 0.35000 0.50000E-01
3.000 2.000 0.25400 0.24100 0.48000E-01
0.48000E-01 0.29000E-01 0.29000E-01 0.0000 0.0000
No saturation is modelled for the GENROU model.
