This project should get more ratings! 2.5 Stars just don't seem inviting enough for such a nice plugin. It works like a charm and is a much better approach than running npp as admin (Least privilege). But there is a design flaw in my opinion that is that separate executable that request elevation and writes the file is written by the extension from npp (exposing it to npp and other plugins) into the users appdata directory (exposing it to any user level programs). If then nnpAdminAccess.exe would show a window with (file to be written)'s name during (before) the UAC dialog, one would only need to trust this plugin when using it :)

Doesn't work. I still get the "you can't save here, like the Desktop instead?" message. NPP 6.8.3.

Works as described. You will be prompted by the UAC to approve the save, but it's still better than starting Notepad++ in Administrator mode each time I need to modify a file with admin rights.
