Notey is the earlier version of NotePuppy. It does everything that it was meant to do, which is less than NotePuppy. NotePuppy is basically notey 2, but the name changed because there is already an app called notey, it's a JavaScript page for, well, cloud-type post-it notes. Features are: Auto save files - enter a file name when the file is created, and you never need to save it again Central file repository Minimalist text editor with pretty much no clutter More on saving: The editor automatically saves the file every 30 seconds while it is being edited. If the application crashes within 30 seconds of editing, you may lose data. This has never happened to me, although some of my computers crash all the time so it is pretty handy. If you need the file to save quicker, either close the file to force a save, or use Ctrl+S (Cmd+S on Apple). Building instructions: Linux machines need the Qt build environment. Build with qmake, make clean and then make. For Apple... um, I just opened the qtprog.pro file in the IDE and did Cmd+B. For the Maemo device it is built using the MADDE environment, see the Nokia docs for there. For Windows Machines I have no idea - I've seen the app running on Windows but don't use Windows so no idea what it needs.
