Noid Linux (Naz's Void Linux-based iso) is my personal customization of Void Linux. It's tailored to my preferences and comes with a custom XBPS repository enabled out of the box.

Features

  • Minimal Base System: Built on Void Linux's lightweight foundation
  • Custom XBPS Repository: Additional packages and modifications I find useful
  • Calamares Installer: Graphical system installer instead of void-installer
  • Multiple DEs: Available in XFCE (primary), KDE, and GNOME variants
  • Flatpak Support: Bazaar pre-installed for easy app installation

User Reviews

  • Hi, the Noid project is improving continuously with the addition of a bazaar that supports Flatpak packages, as well as the availability of DE variants. I hope we can get a Wayland dynamic window manager like Hyprland or a X11 dynamic window manager like Qtile for users who prefer a tiling WM.

Thank you for the support. Usually I don't prefer ISOs like this to come with a WM out of the box (they tend to require extensive user-specific configuration that's better being done by the user). However, I am currently working on a Niri ISO, so fingers crossed it goes well 🤞
  • How do I install this noid? I have a live USB burnt but there is no installer on the desktop.

Thanks for trying out Noid! I kept the same installer that come with Void Linux. Just follow the same guide you'd follow for installing Void.
