  • NetRexx is the best Language and the best Compiler I've ever seen in my own - quite long - EDP and IT History. I am working since 1964 in IT, starting as a student at the technical university here in Vienna, shortly called TU, and then at IBM as a volunteer programming in RPG I, and then PL/I. Concurrently, I did start at GEISCO (General Electric Information Services Company) on their Mark I System, using BASIC, and then the successor of Mark I, named Mark III, programming there in Fortran 77. There I have been the Author of EURO:LOGOS, an SQL-like Database INQUIRY-langauage, and of EURO:ARCHIV, somewhat a predecessor of SVN and Git, as well. Ok, before I do tell You my whole IT-Experience, I would like to stop for now. Give NetRexx (see www.Netrexx.org) a try. It does generate Java Code, as well as allowing You to use any Java class. It is, essentially, a blend of Rexx (see www.RexxLA.org) and and Java, (see www.NetRexx.org) and has been invented by Mike F. Cowlishaw, the father of 'classic Rexx', as well, a former IBM employee. Kind regards, Thomas.Schneider@thsitc.com
