Variant Description

Switching of sessions in with lightdm does not work always, it is not stable. Lightdm is installed but this system is booting to multi user mode and user can start X11 using startgui command.

Lots of files that were here available for download were removed as they contained too many bugs.

Install

  • The debian installers at my kali linux image are installing stock Kali Linux without my custom packages and configs. There are two ways to install my customized version:
  • Use Calamares installer (Install Debian shortcut at XFCE desktop) or
  • Use the install-customizations.sh script

How to install customized my kali linux using Calamares installer

  • Boot My Kali Linux in livecd mode
  • Start GUI sezsion by startgui command and select XFCE
  • Make sure you have internet connection and access to kali.org servers.
  • Start Install Debian shortcut from Desktop.

How to install customizations to freshly installed Kali Linux (Kali Linux from official images or installed by Debian Installer)

The script will install additional packages and config files for DWM, i3, Openbox, conky, plank

sudo apt install git 
cd ~/
git clone https://gitlab.com/jacekkowalczyk82/my-debian.git
cd my-debian/kali
./install-customizations.sh
