Copyright Robert Brown 2018 MyMotor-00 Single Solenoid Horizontal This is my first design using a simple solenoid found on eBay, running off 6VDC (4xAA) - An off-off switch with roller is actuated by counter lever to turn off on and give power to solenoid The flywheel sits on one side of the base block The crankshaft slides from flywheel through bearing to counter lever on other side Ream the flywheel and counter lever 5mm holes to 5mm Slide crankshaft through base block Make sure bearings rotate freely before fitting - CRC60 spray or lubricate if necessary and remove excess liquid/lubrication Fit Bearings to 16mm holes in base block to hold crankshaft in place Use M3 grub screws to secure flywheel to crankshaft (left side looking at front) The CAM lever fits on the shaft on the same side as solenoid The microswitch roller fits onto the CAM lever edge The solenoid shaft attaches from solenoid to the CAM lever The throw (distance) of solenoid shaft in vertical movement = solenoid actuation distance = 10mm The microswitch operates when solenoid shaft is just past fully extended and turns off just before solenoid actuator is fully inserted (momentum of flywheel should keep moving) Use M3 grub screws to secure CAM level to crankshaft - BUT needs to be position correctly first CAM Lever - Fit to crankshaft - Attaches via pin to solenoid - Microswitch roller runs on outside Solenoid - When fully extended, solenoid lever needs to be at full extension with counter lever positioned so its activating the micro-switch (microswitch is on) Parts List (Purchase) Bearing 625ZZ 6pcs Solenoid DC6V 300mA 5N/10mm JF-0530B 1pc [10mm throw] Microswitch with Roller 1pc 4xAA Battery Case 1pc M2*5mm hex bolt (Solenoid Rod) 1pcs or ????
