MX Linux is a cooperative venture between the antiX and MX Linux communities. It is a family of operating systems that are designed to combine elegant and efficient desktops with high stability and solid performance. MX’s graphical tools provide an easy way to do a wide variety of tasks, while the Live USB and snapshot tools inherited from antiX add impressive portability and remastering capabilities. Extensive support is available through videos, documentation and a very friendly Forum.

  • Likely the most straight forward and easy to use Linux distribution I've come across, as someone who prefers Windows, and the desktop runs great on 4GB RAM and a i5 540M. Only distros that come close to this level of ease of use for beginners are Ubuntu and Mint flavors+spinoffs. Everything's rather easy to get setup. I was shocked by it's installer being so easy and straight forward. There's limited Flatpak support, but most of them will work fine. If you have any issues they have a pretty helpful forum where most basic questions were likely already answered - would always show up if I added "mx linux" to the web search. Only real gripe was that there wasn't a GUI for mouse speed and acceleration settings. Had to follow a forum guide to turn mouse acceleration off. It's an easy recommendation. :)

  • The best Linux!
  • I've tested many distributions over the years, including XFCE, Ubuntu, and Debian, Devuan Runit, and MX Linux. XFCE is very good, I recommend it. P.S. If you have any problems, you can get help very quickly on the MX Linux forum. xD
