Finding a shear center is a difficult and time consuming job for multi-cell thin walled beam cross sections for engineers. This program makes this process easier. Easy to use GUI and colorful stress analysis results helps engineers. My program is based on my unpublished mechanical engineering master thesis. You can find sample data here too. Save file is easy to edit as text file so optimization can easily be performed. Any feedbacks will be grateful about the project.

System requirements : Windows 98-SE/ME/2000/XP/7/8/10
Additional Requirements : .Net Fx 3.5 (https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=2

NEW : I am trying to move the project to online :
http://online-mech.epizy.com/
will be the program's online version. I started on it. It is in pre-alpha version. developments will be announced here.

Features

  • GUI for entering cross section data
  • Be able to Save & load the node-edge data in comma seperated value(.csv) file for later repeated analysis or optimization purposes
  • Fast and accurate analysis of all the geometrical properties including the shear center
  • No limit for number of cells for multi-cell cross sections
  • Analysis results shown in color on cross section
  • Currently I am working on the online version of the program in http://online-mech.epizy.com/
