Moonjit is a Just-In-Time Compiler (JIT) for the Lua programming language. Lua is a powerful, dynamic and light-weight programming language. It may be embedded or used as a general-purpose, stand-alone language.
Moonjit is a fork of the inactive LuaJIT project and aims to provide a way forward for existing users of LuaJIT looking for continuity in development and maintenance.
The v2.1.1 release of moonjit is intended as an update to the LuaJIT-2.1.0-beta3 release with a number of bug fixes and some architecture enablement. Here are the highlights of the release on top of LuaJIT-2.1.0-beta3
- New architecture ppc64le
- New architecture s390x
- LuaJIT-test-cleanup has been incorporated into moonjit
- A number of bug fixes
Errata
- Version check is broken in
jit.*lua libraries where the version numbers are hard coded. This bug only affects modules ofjit.*insrc/jitand can be worked around by setting the value to 20101 in those checks. See [#32] for details. - ppc64le is not part of 2.1.1. It will be included in the next release.
