MiyoLinux Release Notes (Condensed)

Full Release Notes are included in each .iso. Please read over the Release Notes if you decide to install the system onto your computer. They contain a lot of useful information to help you.

PLEASE NOTE: THERE ARE NO VIRTUALBOX GUEST ADDITIONS INCLUDED IN MIYOLINUX.

MiyoLinux .isos are Openbox with only the tint2 panel. Several changes have been made (from past releases) to try and provide a modern-looking desktop while giving users with older hardware and limited resources an even lighter operating system out of the box.

Miyo-XTRA .isos are MiyoLinux with "extra" panels to choose from. Out of the box, XTRA uses more resources than the regular MiyoLinux, but it's still lightweight.

Differences between Miyo-XTRA Jessie and Miyo-XTRA Ascii...

Please be aware that as of today (2018-01-27), Ascii is still under some development. Therefore, it's still considered as a testing version. Though it has been very stable in my usage, it's still possible that bugs may arise.

1. Jessie uses kernel 3.16. Ascii uses kernel 4.9.
2. Jessie has older packages. Ascii offers newer packages.
3. The Grub screens are different.
4. Jessie uses Docky for the dock. Ascii uses Plank.
5. The Ascii version has Arc themes installed and custom MiyoLinux Arc window themes to match.
6. In Ascii, the Settings shortcut in the Whisker Menu opens the MiyoLinux Control Center; whereas, it opens Lxappearance in the Jessie version. If you want that option in Jessie, just do the following...

a) Right-click the Whisker Menu, and choose Properties.
b) In the window that opens, click the Commands tab.
c) Next to All Settings, change the command to /bin/miyo-cc
d) Close the window, and it should then open the Control Center from the Shortcut in the Whisker Menu.
