It works flawlessly. I always wanted to use a headset that doesn't have a mute microphone button. Setting up a macro to one of my gamer keyboard extra buttons and MicMute, and now I have it. Keep the good work. Advice: remember to never shutdown your PC or quit the app without unmuting your microphone first.

Made a whole account and verified it just to stop others from making the same mistake as me. This app ruined my mic, it turned my mic up to 100% unexpectedly so i killed everyone's eardrums at first. Than after fixing it in the settings, it was never truly the same. Totally cuts out and sounds staticy. I was so happy with this mic up until today, already in the market for a new one.

Worked for a few days. When it did work, it was perfectly fine. After that, even after pressing the keyboard shortcut (WIn + Left Alt), the software would have no effect on my mic. I would have to uninstall and reinstall in order for it to work again, just for it to break again after a few days. At least it didn't break my mic like other reviews.

I love this, when it actually works. I have had the problem of it "breaking" my mic, but I know how to fix it now and avoid it. What I don't understand is that I will press my mute key (which is F2) and it sometimes just doesn't mute at all. Anyone know why?

It broke my mic and i can not unmute it i think i have to reset my pc and i even can not turn this f***ing slider to the right. dont download it if you want keep using your mic :)

This broke my microphone and I am still not able to make it work again. DO NOT USE THIS - IT WILL BREAK YOUR MICROPHONE.

For the people saying that this software broke their mics, you just need to open the run command, type mmsys.cpl, recordings, your microphone, levels, and move the slider up. This probably happened because you turned your computer off or quit the mic mute app before unmuting yourself, so your input volume is left on 0.

Works perfeclty, can set my own keybind to mute/unmute whenever I want.

I removed the check mark from the "toggle" in Companion so this becomes a true "cough button" as long as I depress the StreamDeck button.

At first I thought this app kicked a**. It was simple and effective, and worked well -- or so I thought. Then I came to understand what all the negative reviews were talking about. This app worked to mute and unmute my mic a few times, but within two hours of my first use, that basic functionality broke and "permanently" muted my mic. And if you have this app set to auto-start with Windows, I can see why some people get confused because it immediately breaks your mic whenever you start your PC. Even after I completely uninstalled this app and removed all traces of it, my mic still wouldn't work. I looked around and eventually found out that what this app did is set my mic volume to zero. So even when you unmute your mic, when this app screws up (which it will), it will unmute your mic but leave your mic input volume at zero so you will still think you're muted. Would be a cool app if it worked as advertised.

Many times works great. But sometimes it forgets my micro, at start, app gets frozen, or just don't recognize my shortcut or any keyboard input. Also missing to show voice activity, in system tray or also in an overlay. But just as idea. Finally something to end with programs with only options to push-to-talk or voice activity. Now I can toggle mic everywhere. Wish it improves.

Worked great - until I tried to use it with webex. Then I had to restore from a restore point. Seems like it would work well in a vaccum, and the hotkey worked excellently, but there are a lot of things it doesn't work well with.

Sometimes works but most of the time it fails

after 2 days of using application, my mic is not working anymore, i have checked and it says mic on everytime, i have deleted and reinstalled, DO NOT DOWNLOAD MIC STILL NOT WORKING

Works great. Use it everyday. For a really good indicator, right click on red icon, and choose "show MicMute window". Then put the window on the - (minimize) setting. You now have a big icon, on the bottom taskbar, that will light up when "on".

Never seen this site before so was suspicious, but needed a push to talk program as xbox console companion ptt hardly ever works. it works like a dream. i like the little sound it makes when you mute and unmute too. Had doubts but honestly im amazed. Would be great if you could bind ptt to mouse buttons too, but I guess a workaround is by remapping them with a keyremapper!

I really dont know what the negative reviews are about. Maybe something personal or competitors(on a free proglam, LOL) Anyway, It's free, easy to setup just from the system tray menu and I use it for either push to talk when in online classes (should work great in games too) or with 2 clicks I can set it to toggle with the same key so I can leave the mic on for long calls. The only feature I can think I would like added is 2 different toggle keys, one for push to talk and on for toggle!

I've been looking for a program like this for a while now, and I found this... Easy to use, light, and very much working. Great program! Will be using this from now on. Thanks! :)
