MeX 64 bit Linux is based ONLY on Debian 8.6 and Ubuntu 16.04.1.
MeX uses the Cinnamon 3.0.7 (latest) Desktop environment and kernel 4.8.0-25-exton.
INSTALL TO HARD DRIVE/USB PEN DRIVE
MeX Linux can easily be installed to hard drive and/or to a USB pen drive (if you want).
RUNS IN RAM
Another big improvement is that MeX now can run from RAM. When the system has booted up you can enjoy a really fast system! You’ll need at least 2 GB RAM to run MeX that way. I.e. superfast!
If you install MeX Linux to hard drive you will always get the latest package versions if you run the following commands: "sudo apt-get update" then "sudo apt-get upgrade".
INSTALL to hard drive
MeX uses Refracta Installer.
IMPORTANT about Refracta
You can use the Refracta tools (pre-installed in MeX) to create your own installable Ubuntu Live DVD. I mean change everything and then create a whole new Ubuntu live system. Can be done while running MeX live.

Worst distro I`ve ever used. Panel at bottom is completely dead. Created a top panel and it too is dead. WTF ? Like all of Arne Exton`s distros they are so plagued with problems they are unusable.
cactusneedle, The issues with wifi connections have been fixed in MeX version 150714. NetworkManager works perfect. Furthermore: MeX is not just a "duplicate" of Mint. MeX uses a much newer kernel etc. Also: Linux Mint 17.2 "Rafaela" is based on Debian and Ubuntu 14.04 "Trusty Tahr". MeX build 150714 is based on Debian 8 "Jessie", Ubuntu 15.04 "Vivid Vervet" and Linux Mint 17.2. Please read more about MeX Linux at mex.exton.net. To sacramento666 151011 You must have done something "funny".
Missing an important script that allows Wifi to connect. Available networks & drivers are there but will not make a connection. Otherwise just a duplicate of Linux Mint Rebecca which does work. So don't waste your time on this one. Add Cinnamon 2.6 desktop directly to a working linux install.
