It's been quite a while. Glad to see so many long lost mates still around and thinking of the golden age of FPS online Gaming ! Meta was life for quite some time during our youth. Back then I ran =GG= & [GoD] with Quad, Remo, Rem, Yuri, RDC, Rasp. One of the few players to defeat the legendary Unholy 1v1 lol Never Forget ..... H is your daddy ! shout out to CR BC & OeH

I can't believe it's been over 20 years now! How time flies! I was known as Evil back in the Meta days, and if anyone is seeing this then let's play again! I am also on Steam, my sn is Elixxur. You can also find me at andrewluna.com ^__^ As for Meta it was an awesome community of strangers that became life long friends. I miss the days of playing with Lordstorm, Rasp, Quad, Jinx and Nukerzz.

I played Meta a lot starting around 1996, not sure if that's exactly right because Quake itself was only released in June 1996. I remember Osiris, Sentinal who always played the fireball (can't remember the name of the class), Weezer and LordStorm from BC clan. LawDawg, and ZoMBiE. And of course Pyre and all the CR clan. Probably many others if I saw the name I would remember. Had a lot of fun playing and I think the concept of Meta holds up quite well. There should be more modern games where you can play as something other than a guy with a gun in a corridor. Hats of to Lon for creating it and hello to all the players from those days.

Pyre? I was there when this started! I was trying to find an old map I made for the server where I wrote "META" in the ground with a black texture over sand. Back then I was rolling as RDC or ZoMBiE...was in GibGoblins clan... anyone from the days who finds this, write me an email at zombie_rdc@hotmail.com

I was the original (mod) author, but only some of the ideas were mine. That this project continues under new leadership makes me happy. My less than perfect GPA in college was a direct result of this modification.
