To use on a linux system
(i) Download the file
(ii) Decompress it with: gunzip merlin-rel-x-y.tar.gz
(iii) Extract to directory with: tar -x < merlin-rel-x-y.tar
where x-y is the release number
(iv) cd to the merlin-unix directory within the directory you've just created and read the README file to make the release
(v) cd to MerlinExamples/Testjobs and read the REAMDE file to run test jobs
The History.txt file, at the top level, contans details of changes
Version 4-02 has the scattering processes
Version 4-01 has had the new materials classes added. It is still in beta test
Version 4-0 is a direct copy of Merlin from the site at DESY where it was previously maintained.
