Identify sizes of memory modules installed on a Solaris, Linux, FreeBSD or HP-UX workstation or server.

memconf reports the size of each SIMM/DIMM memory module installed in a system. It also reports the system type and any empty memory sockets. In verbose mode, it also reports the following information if available:
- banner name, model and CPU/system frequencies
- address range and bank numbers for each module

Features

  • Works on most Solaris, Linux, FreeBSD and HP-UX systems.
  • Works on Solaris and Linux Virtual Machines
  • Displays CPU information as well as memory information
  • Support Solaris LDOMs
  • Updated regularly to add support for new SPARC and X86 systems

User Reviews

  • Does exactly what it claims to do, and the author is very responsive to requests to add new hardware types.
  • I am using memconf since version V1.44. It replaces our C version (called memconf to). Just tested V3.05 12-Feb-2015 wich fixed a minor issue. Great tool to see if you can upgrade your memory.
  • I've used memconf for a number of years now and it's been exceptional useful for figuring out the memory configuration on many of our servers. Saving a lot of time and hassle, Thanks for all the hard work.
