Installing


  1. Opening the folder:
    • Open explorer.exe (as admin):
      • Method A:
        1. Open Task Manager
        2. For users with Vista or later and UAC on, click "Show processes from all users", otherwise skip this step
        3. Click File>New Task (Run...)
        4. Type "explorer" in the text box
        5. For users with Vista or later and UAC on, check "Create this task with administrative privileges" and click "OK", otherwise just click "OK"
      • Method B:
        1. Open the "Start" menu
        2. Right click Accessories>Windows Explorer
        3. For users with Vista or later and UAC on, click "Run as administrator", otherwise just click "Open"
    • Go to: "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc"
  2. Backing up the old "HOSTS" (Optional but recommended):
    • Rename "HOSTS" to "HOSTS.BAK"
  3. Installing the new one:
    • Copy or move the downloaded HOSTS into the folder
  4. Reboot & enjoy!

Uninstalling


NOTE: If you did not create a backup, forget it. Just find a new one.

  2. Restoring the old one:
    • Delete HOSTS
    • Rename HOSTS.BAK to HOSTS

You may need to clear DNS cache in apps such as Firefox to complete the (un)install.
