INSTALLATION 1.1 WHAT YOU NEED TO RUN THE MAP-EDITOR You need ... ... min. 35 MB free Space on your Harddrive ... 30 MB or more free RAM ... ~1 GHz or more ( doesnt matter if you have a AMD or Intel CPU ) ... Graphic adapter with min. SHADER MODEL 1.1 & DIRECTX 9.0c ( advisable: Shader Model 2.0 & DirectX 9.0c ) ... Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0.30319 ( mostly called 4.0 ) --> it must be EXACTLY 4.0!! Microsoft XNA Redistributable 4.0 ==> http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20914 1.2 HOW TO INSTALL THE STUFF * You don't need to "install" it. * Just extract the files out of the .7z archive 1.3 HOW TO RUN THE MAP-EDITOR * To run the Map-Editor, browse to \MapEditor_0.1.3\MapEditor_0.1.3\ and make a double-click on the file "ArenguMapEditor.exe". Thats it ;) 2. USE THE MAP-EDITOR 2.1 FEATURE OVERVIEW * Easy Item-Menu ( place your matching Items in an easy way ) * 6 different Layers ( for creating a realistic world ) * Test-Mode ( for testing your map ) * Collision-Manager ( create data for collisions between player and object ) * Load and save your maps * Change the Position and scale of your Items * Disable the layers you don't want to see * Fill a whole Layer with one Item via paint-bucket * Delete unnecessary Objects with the rubber * Combine rubber and paint-bucket to clean a whole layer! 2.2 CREATE EMPTY MAP * Just click on "Neue Map" to open a Window to configure your new map > Name -> Give a name to your map > Breite ( Felder ) -> How wide should the map be ( in fields ) > Höhe ( Felder ) -> How high should the map be ( in fields ) * Click "OK" to create the map 2.3 LOAD A EXISTING MAP * Click on "Map laden" * choose a *.amf File to open it ( NOTE: Be save that the map has got the right Map-Version ) > Map-Version: 0.4 * HOW TO CHECK THE MAP-FILE-VERSION: Open the file with a Notepad-program ( like the one Windows has ) ans look at the first line ( DO NOT CHANGE IT ), thats the version of the map. 2.4 SAVE YOUR MAP(S) * Click on "Map Speichern" * Choose a directory where you want to save the map * Click "Save" to confirm the process 2.5 PLACE YOUR TEXTURES * Choose a texture in the left area * Click with the left mouse button on the map to place the texture > TIP: Hold the Button to "draw" on the map 2.6 EDIT SCALE AND POSITION * Select a field by clicking with the right mouse button * Click on one of the edit-boxes at the right hand side * Type in your new value ( you can delete the old value by pressing BACKSPACE ) - All values are in fields ( Example: You want to shift the texture two fields lower -> Type in Y:2 ) 2.7 DELETE TEXTURES * Click on the Button "Radiergummi" to select the rubber * Click left on a field to delete its texture OR * Click right on the texture you want to delete * Press DEL ( in German: ENTF ) to delete this texture 2.8 FILL A WHOLE LEVEL * Choose the right Level !!! ALL existing data of the Level will be changed * Select a texture * Click on the Button "Fülleimer" to select the bucket * Click left anywhere on the map to fill it with one texture 2.9 TEST YOUR MAP * Click on the Button "Map testen" to switch to the Test-Mode * Move with [W], [A], [S], [D] * Exit with [ESC] * Zoom in/out with your [MOUSE_WHEEL] 2.10 KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS ( IN NORMAL MODE ) * [W, A, S, D] - Change Texture * [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6] - Change Level * [TAB] - Change Level * [MOUSE-WHEEL] + [CTRL] - Change Level ( in German: [MAUSRAD] + [STRG] ) * [MOUSE-WHEEL] - Zoom in/out * [DEL] - Delete Texture ( in German: [ENTF] ) 3. USE THE COLLISION-MANAGER 3.1 ABOUT THE COLLISION-MANAGER * Create the areas the player is NOT allowed to go in ( simple collision rectangles ) 3.2 OPEN THE COLLISION-MANAGER * Click on the Button "Coll. Manager" to open the Collision-Manager 3.3 HOW TO LOAD A BLANK TEXTURE * Select a Texture ( you can use WASD ) * Click "Lade Textur" to load the texture WITHOUT any existing data 3.4 HOW TO LOAD EXISTING DATA * Select a Texture ( you can use WASD ) * Click "Daten Laden" to load the texture WITH existing data 3.5 CREATE COLLISION-DATA * Click left on the texture, where the left-top corner should be > HOLD THE BUTTON PRESSED! * Move your mouse to draw a rectangle * Release the left mouse button to confirm the process 3.6 DELETE WRONG DATA ! On the right-hand side you see a list with all existing data for this texture ! * You can select a specific data with the arrow-keys ( up & down ) * Press [DEL] to delete this entry ( in Germany: [ENTF] ) 3.7 SAVE NEW DATA * If you satisfied with your data click "Daten Speichern" to save your data ! If there are existing data for this texture, you will be asked if you want to overwrite them ! 3.8 CONTROLS * [W, A, S, D] - Select Texture * [ESC] - Exit ( go back to normal editor ) * [DEL] - Delete selected entry in data-list ( in German: [ENTF] ) * [MOUSE-WHEEL] - Zoom in/out ( in Germany: [MAUSRDA] )
