  • Doesn't work once the laptop lid is closed, the software entirely fails to operate. "Keeps eject button locked after sleep-hibernate-resume" may be fine but does no good if closing the laptop lid without any of those actions still causes the software to break.
  • Fractal Design desktop case has a door that blocks the CD drive. Which is OK, until the CD is ejected unintentionally via software and the tray continually tries to open over and over. A nice fire hazard sorted by this program. Thanks!
  • Works ok when computer is rebooted, but when coming out of hibernation it will not work again until computer is rebooted. Mine is hibernated every night so its pretty useless unfortunately.
  • I does lock my DVD drive tray. Which is great. However, I cannot get it to re-enable my drive tray. I move it to Available CD Drives, or use the right-click context menu to re-enable it, it will not permit the drive to function.
  • Exactly what i was looking for. Thanks for sharing. On my machine (T420 Thinkpad) it requires approx. 21Mb of memory. As i don't know if this is reasonable or not i only wanted to add this, because in a previous post someone wrote about 50Mb.
  • Does what it says. My Eject button on my Toshiba laptop (Satellite series) was being accidentally triggered far too often. This solved the issue quickly and effectively. Honestly, see no need for a physical Eject button; it just gets in the way and right clicking the drive in explorer and selecting "Eject" works fine.
  • I'm not actually using this for locking drives, but for unlocking them instead. When ripping CDs/DVDs it occasionally happens that my disk drive stays locked and even the hardware button won't help. Before, I always had to reboot, but now LockCD is the solution: Start the application, "lock" the drive (that's already locked) and unlock it again - brilliant!
  • This "simple" program fills a need. The very annoying way the DVD-tray always opens, often just by taken up the laptop is dealt with by this program. I used it for my T410 (lenovo). I was very dissapointed and surprised that this program used 50MB of RAM. Well, just to keep a button from functioning... I now mechanically disabled the button, wich is, imho, the cleanest way. Thanks anyway for your effort en sharing.
  • Please update for windows 8 as not working. thanks
  • Quick and easy program! Fixed the problem of my CD drive opening every time I removed it from my bag!
  • Great program that locks the drive, but does not retain the lock after shutdown reboot as other reviews suggest. Every time I turn reboot my machine I have to reselect the drives I want to disable with the large popup that shows each time. It'd be nice if the program saved your choices in an ini file and read them on load (maybe commandline attribute) to save dealing with the giant popup box each time.
  • Does exactly what I want it to do. Clean easy interface, 0% nonsense 100% effective. Thanks for writing this program.
  • Nice software! The usability is top notch for a free software. Keeps eject button locked after sleep-hibernate-resume, exactly as declared.
  • a great little program, does exactly what its made to do. unlike the other similar programs i have found online to lock the cd door, it retains its locked state after shutdown, restart, sleep/hibernate. unless, of course, you disable it in the tray. a must-have for every laptop owner, or parent. kudos to programmer.
