This is the 'classic' version of openLISEM, for event based or continuous modelling of runoff, floods and river flow, and sediment dynamics in all flows, in rural and urban environments. Other versions that include landslides can be found at lisemmodel.com

There are now two versions: lisem.exe and lisem4bt.exe. The latter reads all maps as 4byte floating points, saving ~25-35% of RAM space at the cost of prrecision (depending on interface options chosen). Use for very large projects.

Latest fixes and changes:

261014 - v7.5.2

  • Added: channel relaxation/attenuation factor, that slows down the kinematic wave by not using the entire volume for velcoity and discharge calculation. Meant for flow delay in larger channels.
  • Added: channel shapes can be rectangular, triagular and trapezium shaped. These are detemrine by giving chanside.map a value > 0 (chanside is the angle with the vertical).
  • Added: subsurface drainage and culverts can be rectangular or circular. If chandiameter.map has a value > 0, the branch is assumed to be circular.
  • Added: in A = alphaQ^beta, beta was 0.6 always, but beta depends on the shape of the channel
  • Added: continuous deposition instead of per timestep either deposition or erosion (Advanced options)
  • Added: choice of linear detachment and deposition or exponential decline in detachment and deposition (Advanced options)
  • IN DEVELOPMENT: pesticide in 2D flow and combined with erosion (does not work yet!
  • FIXED: small bug in boundary when the dem touches the edge of the map without a misssing value.
  • FIXED: small bug in 2nd order MUSCL with HEun timsestep, should not give much difference
  • FIXED: small bug in boundary definition of Riemann solvers
  • FIXED: dot or comma for decimals in interface, for languages that use a comma.
