Linux Kodachi operating system is based on Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS it will provide you with a secure, anti forensic, and anonymous operating system considering all features that a person who is concerned about privacy would need to have in order to be secure.

Kodachi is very easy to use all you have to do is boot it up on your PC via USB drive then you should have a fully running operating system with established VPN connection + Tor Connection established + DNScrypt service running. No setup or Linux knowledge is required from your side we do it all for you. The entire OS is functional from your temporary memory RAM so once you shut it down no trace is left behind all your activities are wiped out.

Kodachi is a live operating system, that you can start on almost any computer from a DVD, USB stick, or SD card. It aims at preserving your privacy and anonymity.

  • I HOPE I AM WRONG> Having still an older slightly buggy though brilliant 7.6 version, and having been in past personal discussion with Mr. Warith Al Maawali concerning linux and android phone software development, I was very much looking forward to test driving his latest model. However, while the system is pretty much looking and operating as awesome as most might say - I am very sad and disappointed in being completely unable to download an ISO that checks out as suitable for use. Checksum is dirty -and the once running OS then seems to fail its own RootKit Hunter tests - [ Rootkit Hunter version 1.4.6 ] System checks summary File properties checks... Required commands check failed Files checked: 149 Suspect files: 149 Rootkit checks... Rootkits checked : 500 Possible rootkits: 4 Applications checks... All checks skipped The system checks took: 2 minutes and 54 seconds VERIFY THE CHECKSUM! Need more ISO hosting options like torrent or other to verify corruption! This has been reported by another user on SourceForge with an alarmingly lackadaisical response: eeds posted a comment on ticket #3 Not from SF for sure or else others will complain its only you. Michal Dziczkowski posted a comment on ticket #3 I were checking both. Not sure what could cause this issue. Is it from the SF side or else. It does need checking. 28 lut 2023 eeds posted a comment on ticket #3 I don't think this is valid sourceforge.net/p/linuxkodachi/tickets/3/?limit=25#0797 His argument suggests his only verification was based in silence of other sourceforge users and not on an investigation into the issue. I know he is a busy man, but this takes the cake. AVOID UNTIL VERIFIED
  • Great Distro!!! In this version the excess cpu issue I was having with version 8.25 is fixed! Runs great on both my Core2 Quad 6600 Dell and My Old I# 2350 Laptop! Fixed is the IPv6 Issue from 8.20! And Of Coarse All Security and Program Updates Are Up To Date! I Have been Using Kodachi Since 7.6 Without Any Dirty Letters From My ISP! I use Kodachi along as a media server along with NORDVPN and DNSCRYPT, TOR excluding 14eyes,Mac Spoofed,Random HWID, RF Devices Disabled, Swap Enabled and Encrypted, USB Control, Installed On Hardware With System NUKE Enabled! All Of This Learned And Accomplished From The KODACHI DASHBOARD!!! I Recommend downloading This Distro Burning It To A Flash Drive And Giving It A Try By Running It out Of RAM!! The XFCE Desktop Looks Great But Can Easily Be Customized By Going To XFCELOOK.ORG and copying Icons And Themes In their Respective Folders Located At "/usr/share/icons" and "/usr/share/themes" I Have To Say That Kodachi Is Easy To Move To From Windows After Learning How To Mount Drives Using "Disk" In Settings Give Kodachi A Try With The Pre-Installed Programs it makes It Hard To Identify You By The Programs You Have Installed on Your Machine! That Makes Kodachi Secure OS A Great option For A Daily Driver! CONS If You Are planning To Get A Free Ride By Downloading Videos On The Free Kodachi VPN You Are Wasting Your Time!!! The Audio Output Has To Be Manually Set To HDMI Every Time I REBOOT when Attaching Multiple Monitors!
  • Whether you like Kodachi in 2023 or not, it opens your eyes to activities that you may not have been privy of before. I admire the effort that went into this distro and it allowed me to confirm my claim that our weakest link is at the other end of the cable or dsl cable (the embedded consolidated communications racket). There are a few little quirks and I'll list them as best as I can recollect. 1.) If running a system that is a linux router with additional cards installed, there is a bit of delay in the forwarding or sharing of the connection. 2.) At times menus will be come confounded (who hasn't seen opensnitch app crash once or twice, or the cool dashboard or even the icons on the side panel may suddenly become gone with no fault of the user). 3.) The system is freely shared by the creator, he bothered to make videos and has an awesome website to help along the way, but I can't help to wonder about some of the apps on here and whether or not I am participating in some sort of bit-mining operation. The bitcoin prices appear before there's even a valid internet connection at times. 4.) The vpn appears the best feature (for me anyway) and to see the myriad of live information available right on the destop is nothing short of awesome, but I think maybe the developer could offer a lighter stripped-down version. How many of us are into chatting percentage-wise? How many of us are into bitcoins? 5.) The installed-to-your-desktop version did not work for me but since I only did it once, I'm in no position to comment aside from the fact that it failed to install a few times before it finally went through and did its thing (only to fail at the networking part). HOWEVER, I'm sure it could have been repaired but I ran back to the live distro version instead. In conclusion, if you spend some moments with kodachi, there's a high liklihood that you will either use it exclusively or at very least, keep a copy for emergencies. Despite any of the aforementioned comments, I give kodachi 6-thumbs up.
  • Been using Kodachi live and in every VM available on Linux platforms since version 8.15; was excellent for its purposes (which never since its 2013 creation was meant to be 100% private) until about nine months ago, when "Kodachi Kit" stopped being marketed through "settings", Kodachi VPN got cut back, and a Kodachi Discord user who did nothing but run down Kodachi got made a mod; since about mid-January 2023, in live/bare metal/any nature VM installs, any one or all system updates now result in Kodachi dashboard locking up with "out of bounds" error (apparently gamba file error some sort) when clicking on VPN section of dashboard...have to use terminal for x-kill to close it, then dashboard stays on as ghost until restart. Checking Discord, dev seems to not hang out much, few weeks ago banned his Kodachi-bashing mod, and rest of his server is all inane chitchat about anything but Kodachi. Other features of Kodachi seem to still work as of now, but for how long...dev hasn't updated in over three months, issues are developing re Ubuntu 18.04LTS updates, that distro itself is EOL in two months, and there's no buzz at Discord et al about an updated or new code base Kodachi in offing. Maybe another great Linux distro sadly sailing into the sunset?
  • The Free Kodachi VPN is restricted to just One Server account of a 3 Eyes Country!, there used to be 5 or 6 Free VPN Servers from all around the world where you could change to a none 3, 9, or 14 Eyes Country for greater Privacy!. The Owner has reduced his servers due to Buisness laws and Political pressure? in Oman. Simply because Kodachi 'used to be' truly annonamous but now is closly monitored by,... the Country to which traffic the VPN goes through, you have been advised. that said its still pretty good just not as secure as it was.
