Replaced my failing Windows 10 machine with old HP Elite and Windowsfx. This is ideal for me. I use Word processing, email, Internet Browsing and Youtube with only light gaming. The bonus of having Onedrive in my file system folder so that I have backup and access from other machines is a huge plus compared to other Linux distros. I tried other Linux distros and found the usual hassles for a non-Linux fan. Windowsfx has proved stable, useful and simple which is what I really need. No doubt, if I experimented with installing lots of crap or tried to find things it can't do or do well I'd succeed, but I'm very happy with something that is both simple and useful. Kudos to its creator who gave people something that respected their simple wants, something the entire Western world has failed to do! It comes bundled with all the software normal people would need, by the way. Didn't need support.

I am having a lot of fun with Linuxfx thanks to all the excellent work done by the Linuxfx team theming KDE. I have been frustrated trying to improve the appearance of my existing Linux XFCE,Mate, etc. distro, to make it more clean and contemporary. And it is my first experience with the KDE desktop. This distro shows how far Linux can go to change its theme and appearance. Unless there is an app you have to have in Win, why use anything else but LInuxfx. Thank you Developers!

Tempi risposta 3gg e problema risolto.

Linuxfx is designed to look like Windows 11 but despite the familiar gloss on the top if you're switching from Windows to Linux this is missing enough basic Windows functionality that you may be better off going with something like Linux Mint which doesn't have a difficult UI to master and has the advantage of being far more mature in terms of development and more widely used which makes it a lot easier to find help (which you will definitely need when switching from Windows) or vanilla Ubuntu which is the version of Linux that both Linuxfx and Mint are based on. What all those computer snobs gushing over Linux don't mention is that despite the fact that Linux is supposed to have a GUI Graphical Interface like Windows and Mac OS you actually need to enter manual command lines in a terminal a lot even for some fairly basic stuff that most users just take for granted on Windows and Mac OS. Some apps or functions won't work the way you expect unless you manually elevate their permissions using command lines. Some apps that you install end up missing dependencies and you get error messages unless you fix the apps using command lines. File managers are blocked from performing many functions in Linux for 'security reasons' so you need to use command lines. You get the idea. Linuxfx may look like Windows 11 on top but it fixes none of that. And if you are switching from Windows to Linux you will probably need to do internet searches to find the right commands (which you can usually copy and paste). But the same commands don't always work and since Mint is much more widely used it's way easier to find the specific correct commands that you need. Linuxfx is not a Linux version of Windows. Having a familiar Windows interface and then discovering that Linuxfx doesn't actually work like Windows is probably more confusing than simply learning to use a brand new interface. Linuxfx uses an app called Wine to run Windows programs but it really doesn't work all that well for most Windows programs so if you are expecting to simply run your Windows programs on Linuxfx you're liable to be disappointed. I really don't like entering command lines so I pretty much hate Linux. I was hoping after trying a half dozen different Linux distros that Linuxfx would be different since it has a very Windows 11 interface but whoever coded this didn't make it easier to use than any other version of Linux. There are also more bugs than I've encountered on other Linux distros and less support.

good linux for people who are intimated by linux. Don't recommended for any sane person who want to learn linux, but for people who will not know it is linux (old people) , but their PC is unusable (windows out of date) , so this is only way to make it usable. It have Office, Browser, those stuff, that perform same as windows, as much those (old people) would use, and wouldn't tell a diffrence. You can trick them, it is indeed latest windows version, as it looks same, to non suspecting person, who have no idea, other than Office and Browser apps, what PC is capable of doing, so this is cool project for that purpose. But if you are person who want to learn linux, and try to get accustomed to linux, sort of windows/linux experience, you will have hard time and get super confused, is it windows (as it behaves like it) or linux. so fixing some issue, will be sure way to drive yourself to insanity. Better learn that linux proper way , accustome to it.

I'm using Linuxfx because my computer was released in 2017 and doesn't meet the TPM or secure boot specifications required by Windows 11. After trying out Linuxfx I've noticed a few things: 1. Linuxfx is a great Windows clone and looks exactly like Windows. 2. It is faster than Windows. 3. It is much more customizable than Windows. 4. Updating the system is easier and faster than Windows. 5. Linuxfx is incredibly stable. I was downloading updates and multi tasking with numerous programs open and it didn't slow down at all compared to windows. 6. Installing apps is a breeze. Everything you could possibly need is in the software store. No more hunting for exe files on the web. I love this distro and plan to use it for years to come. Everything just works.

I just tried it out, and my first impressions are very positive! I like it! It is very functional. What I like: - It looks a lot like Windows 11, it even has the Edge Browser. (Chrome is also installed and runs well). - I love the right click and add to desktop option, real Windows 11 needs to make that easier. - The system updates are nice and clean and looks like Windows. - I like the Windowsfx store, nice clean. I was able to install LibreOffice from there and it runs well. - The Widgets button lets you install widgets on the desktop, nice. - There is even voice search via Helloa. - It comes with some essentials like Audacity, cheese, KMail, VLC, etc. - The work to make it more like Windows 11 is extensive. Clearly they put a lot of effort into that. I would recommend a few improvements: - I installed it under VMWare player, and after installation it said the installation failed, it could not cd to a cd-rom drive. But I restarted it, and it appears to have installed fine and runs fine. This was a little disconcerting. - So I ran Microsoft Edge and downloaded and ran the 7-ZIP installer. It installed fine, but wine wanted to install several additional packages, to which I said yes. Some users would find this disconcerting. It would be nice of the Windowsfx system could install those during its installation. That would make it a lot smoother. notepad++ also installed and ran fine. - Interesting that it does no provide LibreOffice anymore, it does have a link to office.com via a browser, which worked fine. Very nice. - Changing the screen resolution only worked after I installed vmware tools. Admittedly, this is nothing to do with Windowsfx really. - If you click on Chat on the task bar, a blank white Teams window comes up. It appears to be there but the window contents stays blank. And you have to kill it (Close does it) for anything else to work. So I went to the Windowsfx store and installed Microsoft Teams flatpack. That did the same, just showed a blank windows. So I uninstalled that and installed teams-for-linux, which was more successful. - Some items are missing, like the right click menu on the Windows 11 icon which gives you access to disk management, device manager, control panel, etc. - Also, you cant search for Startup to remove Teams which hangs and slows down startup, you have to click Start, System Settings, Applications, Startup. So I like it, but a few tweaks could make the experience much smoother. Is it compelling? If you want Windows 11 look and feel without using Microsoft Windows, then yes. If you want something like Windows 11 on older hardware without the workarounds, then yes. For most people, this provides what they need. But for many linux experts, you can make your Linux look like Windows 11 while still keeping the familiar commands and options.

I really love this Windowsfx OS over any other Ubuntu/Linux systems I've used. Downloading it, making a startup USB flash drive and installing it is very straightforward. I recommend downloading it through BitTorrent or other torrent software as it is a large yet very complete download. Customizing the OS, installing and using programs and navigating around it is easy for me. I like the icons, the wallpapers, the menus and its overall operation. I really like that it includes common software, browsers, audo video I have not encountered any significant problems with it. I am trying to get iTunes to work with Wine to manage my iPhone and I am confident I will be able to get it to work just fine. I am trying out the Android support feature I like the Windows 10 start menu and taskbar better than the 11 system and it works fine. I created and maintain my website and blog at webpagesbygeoff.com. I have written a few very positive review for my experiences with it and its features. I have a decently equipped older HP laptop (8 gig memory & solid state drive) and it runs exceptionally well on it. I HIGHLY recommend using this system as an alternative to Windows. I have tried a few versions and I have liked them all. Contacting support is easy. He responds fairly quickly and in friendly way.

I've had a great experience running this OS. The support staff is easy to reach and incredibly knowledgeable. One of the very few projects I have ever paid for because I like what they do.

This is so good! This operating system looks and works exactly like Windows 11. This is easily one of the best operating systems I've ever used.

This product is great. Everything works as it is suppose to with exception to Edge browser. Edge is a dev version there is a beta also. I removed Edge due to bug error MS created. After removing programs I did not need. I have everything I need to do anything I did before with windows 10. Each update makes the system better stronger. This is the smoothest running linux I ever ran. And is so comfortable to use feel like I am at home with windows even if it is not windows. Moving around the system is easy. Once in awhile I have to go online and look up script code to fix something using the terminal. I use Ubuntu 20.04 for info on that. The base of Windows FX 10 is Ubuntu 20.04 that makes it easier to find help when and if I have a problem. Also can get help from systems support homepage. I have windows all my life. But have played with linux os over the years. Non were as comfortable to use. Highly recommend trying this one. I also recommend using a linux usb creator. I used linux mint,s usb iso creator program to make my install.

This is Windows equivialent without all the burdens of Microsoft Windows (sluggishness, viruses) . It is sleek and even the most 'I am only used to MS Windows' will be happy to use this. Crucially, unlike MS Windows 10 this distro fits on a DVD so the ISO can just be burned to a DVD as well as USB, Windows applications install ok as well.
