  • This is a great book for noobs or dabblers or those of us who abandoned MS years ago.
  • This is the best book on Linux basics and command. I haven't found any book or course as good as this book is!
  • One of the best Linux Tutorials - Books ever. Can't thank you enough William Shotts.
  • GREAT STUFF......also... especially for NEWBIES
  • Great materials!
  • Great learning or refresher book!
  • Good comprehensive book
  • Very good. Merci !
  • Holy Mother of God, I've been looking for a book like this forever. So many books about linux today go all gui on you, yet everyone who's "Good" at linux uses the damned command line. It had all been snippets and learn 20 commands and see ya! till now. Finally, the whole enchilada with scripting, verdes, chile, and mole sauces. Thanks bshotts!
  • I just created an account on SourceForge to give this book a thumbs up. This book is a very rare source of complete and concise information on using BASH - and you can get it for free! From now on it's "man, LinuxCommand, Google" workflow for learning shell for me.
  • Very useful information. From basics to advanced commands, all detailed. Really thanks
  • IMHO a very good first introduction about "semantic bash" . Maybe the quality of your work deserve translation in other languages? For who's interested i prepare a deck(flashcards) for mnemosyne SRS here: http://www.mnemosyne-proj.org/content/linuxshell
