Built ok Kubuntu 15.04 linux, requests for libjpeg-dev as prereq dependancy. Would freeimage not be better?! anyhow thought I'd post as it's the first thing thats built (nearly) fresh out-of-box tonight ( 2 hours + ). So good luck. Could maybe try GLFW3 for crossplatform GLwindow & input, very lightweight and unintrusive.
