  • Amazing software! did exactly what i needed! very easy to convert batches of files to mp3 and such. I like the little noises too! adds a lot of personality that a lot of programs dont have. Would very highly recommend for anyone trying to convert files to mp3!
  • Best tool I could find to convert opus to mp3 and I love the sounds it plays, it really gives the program personality.
  • For those complaining about some warning sounds and messages, remember the quote "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth". This is not only a free, open source and lightweight audio encoder, with support for a large number of audio formats, it also has a cool interface. I have been able to optimize hundreds of audio files with a good output quality and without having bugs or complications in the renaming of output file names that other encoders have in the batch convertion of multiple folders.
  • Original programmer acts obnoxious with all the in your face warning sounds the program makes. Takes "lame" literally and ruins their software with it. I knew this for years but now just left a review since I almost reinstalled this program, but decided maybe I shouldn't. I mean, it IS functional but just imagine if ALL your software had warning sounds for no reason, other than to annoy.
  • Generally a pretty good audio encoder but whoever makes this is way too obsessed with terrible mid 90s era software/webpages. Get rid of the dumb sounds and "please be patient" screen while the Jeopardy theme plays. We all know the program is not actually doing anything. And yes I have sounds disabled and the update check disabled but apparently those do not do anything.

  • pros: extremely powerful, useful, and convenient converter, would gladly give it 5 stars, but... cons: 1. Breaks so many file associations on your system. After reading reviews, I see I am not the only one. 2. Who thought it was a good idea to include very loud "cool" sound effects in audio-related software.
  • Made a account just to review this. Obnoxious sound effects, slow start up and then bombed by panic handlers locking your screen up.

  • Missing OGG format for OPUS. No bug tracker, Doom9 (Developer forum THREAD - yes, no forum, ONE thread) requires me to wait five days after registering before I can send a message.
  • Thank you very much for the program distributed under a free open license!

  • After a lot of time I remembered this program and thought on installing it to see why I didn't keep using it or, should I say, use it at all. Well, after downloading and installing the Beta-Alpha and launching it I got a message saying that the Alpha has expired, yeah, expired. Like we are all children that need someone watching out for us so we can't use an alpha version for too much time. Even so, from the moment I installed this fine piece of code to the moment I got the message I also remembered other reason why I ditched this program, the sounds it makes are awful, like if this were a joke of some kind, I don't know. All I know is that this program prevented me from using it so it has that one good feature... I guess.

  • Worst. Software. Ever. Period. It adds a context menu option without asking anything, and changes EVERY SINGLE default apps on the computer when launched even if you don't want to. It's also loud, it makes cringy noises while you do whatever with it. This soft is a joke, I tell you. Even viruses ain't that annoying.

  • This is such a fantastic program, I constantly need to transcode between various formats, including the crazy fruit companies stuff and this program does it all from a nice and easy GUI. When your Apple goes Pear-shaped, try this thing out.

  • TL;DR: Use actively-developed LameXP for FREE, FAST, MODERN, one-step audio conversion! Includes a free frontend for specific, detailed information about media files of all kinds! • LameXP does what it claims, quickly and as-advertised, using the options YOU specify. • LameXP is a mature product with plenty of available documentation, both online and installed with it. Those docs will probably answer any questions you have. • If you are confused, the author and others respond to support requests, usually within hours (in my personal experience)! If you have concerns, post a message about it on the support forum and you'll get a reply indicating how to do what you want, an update with the new feature you've requested, links to other products that fit your specific use case, and/or why it's not feasible at this time with LameXP, which is a tool with specific uses. • You need not worry about getting the newest features of codecs because LameXP is always being updated with the newest builds of its own compilers and included codecs. • You can easily include a binary for another using instructions given in the included FAQ. • Fresh (re-)installs plays brief audio clips that annoy you? You have a volume control/mute button, don't you? Once you've reached the main window, you can disable all sound! Still unhappy? If you paid money for LameXP, you should get a refund, even if you're happy with it, because it costs NO MONEY.

  • Currently, the only audio converter I need. I hope it can be improved much more, there is still room.

  • The program requires a proprietary codec Nero AAC
  • Excellent especially for Opus! Please support more advanced Opus features. Thanks.
  • Excellent app when you need to manage input and output audio files of various formats. Many of them imply various settings. The disadvantage, you can not perform the conversion in a fast and automatic way. For that purpose, I use Mp4 Video 1 Click for Windows (search here or google) in conjunction with LameXP. So, being joined together, LameXP and Mp4 Video 1 Click for Windows are the great pair for both manual-accurate and automatic-fast audio conversions.
