kpt API v1.1.0

Minor release. Additive and backward-compatible — no breaking changes to the Go API; import paths are unchanged.

Features

  • KubeObject moved into the api module (#4767) — the kubeobject package (with node/ and kptfile/ subpackages) is now part of github.com/kptdev/kpt/api.
  • Server-side apply configurations (#4701) — generated apply-configuration types for the kptfile and fnresult APIs under generated/applyconfigurations.
  • Selector.ResourceFileRegexp (#4743) — select resources by matching their file path (relative to package root) against a regular expression.
  • Upstream.PreserveExplicitNull (#4745) — keep explicitly-nulled fields during resource-merge instead of deleting them (resource-merge strategy only).
  • ResultItem now implements error — added an Error() method.

Behavioral changes

  • Stricter Kptfile validation (#4742, [#4750]) — comprehensive field validation now rejects some Kptfiles that previously passed. upstream.git.repo now also accepts scp-style and local values. Not a Go API break, but validation may fail on inputs that were accepted before.
