What's new
- Trail difficulty on the map. Paths from SAC grade T3 up carry their grade, for example "alpine terrain T4", together with a warning where the path fades or disappears.
- Mountain pass categories. A pass shows its category from 1A to 3B or n/c next to its name, in the map's alphabet.
- Faster style recovery.
kmap recovernow runs on every core.
What's fixed
- Cancelling a recover now stops its work on every core at once.
Upgrading
Install over the top. On Debian and Ubuntu sudo apt install ./kmap_1.9.0_<arch>.deb; on
other Linux unpack the archive and put kmap on your PATH; on Windows run the installer;
on macOS replace the app. Profiles, styles and cached downloads stay put.
Which file
| System | File |
|---|---|
| Windows | kmap-1.9.0.exe - one installer, whatever the machine |
| macOS | kmap-1.9.0.dmg - one image, whatever the Mac |
| Debian, Ubuntu | kmap_1.9.0_amd64.deb for 64-bit x86, kmap_1.9.0_arm64.deb for 64-bit ARM |
| Other Linux | kmap_1.9.0_linux_x86_64.tar.xz for 64-bit x86, kmap_1.9.0_linux_aarch64.tar.xz for 64-bit ARM |
Windows 10 1803 or later, macOS 13 or later, Ubuntu 20.04, Debian 11 or later, any other
Linux with glibc 2.17 or later. dpkg --print-architecture or uname -m prints the word
you need.
First run
Nothing here is code-signed, so the first launch takes one extra click. On Windows: More info, then Run anyway. On macOS: right-click kmap and choose Open; from macOS 15, System Settings, Privacy & Security, Open Anyway.
checksums.txt carries a SHA-256 for every file above.
