What's new
- Elevation comes from Copernicus by default on a new machine or in a new profile, instead of Viewfinder. Profiles already saved keep their sources.
kmap doctorshows which vector code the processor runs: NEON, SSE2, SSSE3, SSE4.1 or AVX2.
What's fixed
- The build log stays put while it is scrolled back, and follows new lines only at the bottom.
- Esc on the main menu no longer closes kmap; q and Ctrl+C still do.
- On macOS the Terminal window that kmap.app opened closes about twice as fast when kmap ends.
Upgrading
Install over the top. On Debian and Ubuntu sudo apt install ./kmap_1.7.6_<arch>.deb; on
other Linux unpack the archive and put kmap on your PATH; on Windows run the installer;
on macOS replace the app. Profiles, styles and cached downloads stay put.
Which file
| System | File |
|---|---|
| Windows | kmap-1.7.6.exe - one installer, whatever the machine |
| macOS | kmap-1.7.6.dmg - one image, whatever the Mac |
| Debian, Ubuntu | kmap_1.7.6_amd64.deb for 64-bit x86, kmap_1.7.6_arm64.deb for 64-bit ARM |
| Other Linux | kmap_1.7.6_linux_x86_64.tar.xz for 64-bit x86, kmap_1.7.6_linux_aarch64.tar.xz for 64-bit ARM |
Windows 10 1803 or later, macOS 13 or later, Ubuntu 20.04, Debian 11 or later, any other
Linux with glibc 2.17 or later. dpkg --print-architecture or uname -m prints the word
you need.
First run
Nothing here is code-signed, so the first launch takes one extra click. On Windows: More info, then Run anyway. On macOS: right-click kmap and choose Open; from macOS 15, System Settings, Privacy & Security, Open Anyway.
