First run
kmap fetches what it needs on request — Java, the mkgmap compiler, and pyhgtmap for elevation. There is nothing else to install.
Nothing here is code-signed, so the first launch takes one extra click. On Windows: More info → Run anyway. On macOS: right-click kmap and choose Open; from macOS 15, System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.
