Kino is a non-linear DV editor for GNU/Linux. It features excellent integration with IEEE-1394 for capture, VTR control, and recording back to the camera. Kino supports a number of formats: Raw DV, DV AVI, still frames, WAV, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, MPEG, DivX.

This is the only video editor for Linux which does not crash every 5 minutes! It simply does what it says it does, provides the essential and mandatory features for video edition, cuts clips accurately where it has been asked to cut. Too bad that it's no more supported because now on Ubuntu 16.04 the FX exports are broken! If someone has a workaround for this that would be wonderful!
