kew 4.2.7 "CRIMINAL WORLD" EDITION

Enhancements:

  • Added mini-controls. The idea here is that you will be able to do all the basic operations and will be able to sit a whole session of listening to music, without ever using a keyboard.

  • Added a new visualizer mode with a two color gradient.

  • The visualizer and footer are now under the cover in track view and don't move around depending on metadata position.

  • Removed mp4 support, since it's not fully supported. Fragmented mp4s that are used in streaming are not supported.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fix freeze if the first played song was in an unsupported format. By @ravachol. Found by @Erwin-Iosef. @Crimson72. Thank you also to @petoem for helping identifying what caused the bug.

  • Fix set path leading to errors if the music library path's last character is a '/'. Found by @Erwin-Iosef.

  • Re-enable desktop notifications.

  • Fixed an issue on Nix and with the flake.nix. By: @manuwul.

  • Don't search for covers in sub-folders if the song is in the root library path.

  • Fixed bug where the root library path was used as artist and album fallback if it didn't contain a '/' at the end.

  • Fixed crash on loading Enhanced AC3 files and added proper handling of unsupported files in general.

  • Implemented mpris/dbus get_loop_status. Reported by: @eidola-clone
