Reads stay direct when only one side is reachable Only the return path uses the relay, so reads cost no relay credit.

Direct connections work over IPv4 A NAS with a port forward and no IPv6 address is dialed directly.

The cache survives a restart Parts already downloaded are reused instead of fetched again.

The mount repairs itself An eject or a driver restart remounts the folder without dropping the peer.

Disconnects are detected in 12 seconds instead of 25 A saved contact reconnects on its own after the other computer restarts.

Connection state is visible everywhere The app, kd status and kdmcp show the same state, lane and current speed.

The app warns before the save disk fills A read that needs space stops early instead of writing half a file.

The app says when the free relay lane is shared Once per session, with the data pack as the way to the faster lane.
